Report on week long celebrating program of International Domestic Workers Day

National Domestic Women Workers Union NDWWU along with Domestic Workers Rights Network DWRN and Bangladesh Labour Rights Forum BLRF celebrate the International Domestic Workers day in deferent manner. The three organizations jointly organized a week long program for celebrating the remark day.

June 12: Discussion meeting on international child labour elimination day.

Domestic Workers Rights Network DWRN and Nari Moytree (Women Unity) jointly organized a discussion meeting on June 12, at Bangladesh Shilpokola Academy (Bangladesh Fine Arts Academy). Eminent professor Dr. Zafar Iqbal was chief guest in the discussion meeting. Labour leader comrade Abul Hossain, DWRN coordinator Mr. Sultan uddin Ahmed, human rights activist Mr. Zakir Hossain, NGO activist Mr. Abdul Mannan. Adv. Nazrul Islam, Ms. Mursheda Akhter was presents. Chaired by Ms. Shahin Akter Doli. The daily news paper and electronic media widely covered the program.

June 14: National seminar on Domestic Workers.

National Domestic Women Workers Union NDWWU and Bangladesh Labour Rights Forum BLRF jointly organized a national seminar on June 14, at Dhaka Reports Unity (DRU) hall. Labour leader and convenor of BLRF comrade Abul Hossain presided over the seminar. Mr. Rashed Khan Menon, MP and Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism were chief guest. Mr. Sadekur Rahman sadi present a key note paper in the seminar. Mr. Ruhin Hossain prince of CPB, Dr. Uttam Kumar of ILO, Labour leaderMs.  Lovely Yesmin, Ms. Sultana Begum, Ms. Momotaz Begum, Ms. Mursheda Akhter, Mr. Subal Sarker, Mr. Jayed Iqbal khan spoke in the seminar. Mr. Zakir Hossain moderates the seminar. The daily news paper and electronic media covered seminar news.

June 16: Workers Rally and Discussion meeting.

National Domestic Women Workers Union (NDWWU) and Domestic Workers Rights Network (DWRN) jointly organized a domestic workers rally on June 16 in front of national press club in Dhaka. Anzumanara president of NDWWU presided over the rally. Labour leader comrade Abul Hossain, Mr. sultan uddin Ahmed from DWRN, Mr. zakir Hossain from BLRF, Ms. Rebeka Sunyeat from CUP, Ms. Rafiza khan from Nari Motree spoke before the rally. Hundreds of domestic workers were join the rally.

After the rally DWRN and Nari Motree jointly organized a discussion meeting at DRU Hall. Ms. Shahin Akter doli executive director of Nari motree presided over the meeting. Law maker Ms. Shirin Akter was chief guest in the discussion meeting. Labour leader comrade Abul Hossain, Mr. zakir Hossain, Adv. Nazrul Islam, Adv. Jobida perveen, Ms. Murshida Akhter, Ms. Rebeka Sunyet spoke the meeting. The meeting and rally covered the media.
